Make-A-Difference Day

National Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing day of service. Annually over 3 million Americans work nationwide to complete community based projects fueled by volunteer efforts.

Fresno will be celebrating Make A Difference Day by launching 7 large scale projects in each city council district allowing the entire community to benefit from the volunteer event. This project has the combined goals of uniting our community as neighbors and working to make Fresno a more beautiful place to live and work.

An update to a story from Thursday night where we introduced you to a unique 10 year old from Clovis, Taytum Popp.
She's attempting to take her message as humanitarian and Fresno County Youth of the Year to a national stage.
Friday's fund raiser attempted to raise 2000 dollars.
But as Jon Brent explains, the final number isn't in yet, but the event went a long way to help her get there.

Ben & Jerry's Fundraiser and additional Donations

Well we were there with smiles on our face. Our invited list was close to 1500 and we saw about 200 people come out. KSEE24's Carolyn Bruck and Jon Brent came out as well as Brian from Mega 97.9. It was a night of fun for the kids.

We will post photos soon!

We are still unsure how we did as we are awaiting David's (owner of Ben & Jerry's) call today! We are crossing our fingers and saying our prayers. We did have $126 in personal giving last night! Thank you everyone! Thank you Kiwanis club and Hanford Rotary for coming out as well as some members of the Clovis Elementary Cheer and the wonderful Mrs. Peck!

In the event that you were unable to make the event and would still like donate to the cause contributions can be sent to 1544 Van Ness Ave, Fresno CA 93721 c/o Shawna Laycock or you may call 559-367-8737.

Once again THANK YOU to everyone who came out!
